Gifting my book to the Chief Minister — a moment that led to a day of deep learning and unexpected insight

When I had the opportunity to gift my book to the Chief Minister, he accepted it warmly—and instantly turned the moment into a photo opportunity. But that was just the beginning. What followed was a day of deep learning and unexpected insight.

As a group of YPO CEOs, we met Hon’ble CM Revanth Reddy to understand his vision for Telangana’s future. Little did we know we were about to experience a masterclass in leadership, business thinking, and communication.

From the outset, the message was clear: Telangana—the No. 1 state in the country—means business, and its Chief Minister talks business.

CM Revanth Reddy spoke like a seasoned business professor, using numbers and big ideas to explain complex challenges and bold solutions. He said that the Telangana governments have traditionally built on the blueprint of previous governments, ensuring continuity of progress and prosperity for the state.

Telangana Rising: The Big Picture
The Telangana Rising vision is captured in three powerful numbers:
$3 trillion economy by 2047, the 100th year of India’s Independence.
So, how does the state plan to get there?

With three memorable words that rhyme and resonate: Cure. Pure. Rare.
· Cure: Urban areas within the ORR, focused on services
· Pure: Peri-urban zones between the ORR and RRR, focused on manufacturing
· Rare: Rural areas beyond the RRR, focused on agriculture

A small state, designed around three concentric circles, creates powerful ripple effects across the economy.

Three Key Takeaways

  1. Governments can inspire too
This was a reminder that governments can think big—and communicate clearly. As entrepreneurs and business leaders, we are learning from the state on how to articulate vision, ambition, and execution. That’s refreshing—and encouraging.
  2. Unlocking potential through shared value
Smart policies unlock hidden potential. Allowing multi-purpose use of industrial land will free up thousands of acres for residential development. This brings people closer to work, improves quality of life, and puts long-unused land to productive use. That’s value creation—and value sharing.
  3. The audacity of the human mind
Projects like Bharat Future Global City, a proposed port connected to the sea via a 294 km expressway, and even redirecting the Godavari’s waters into the Musi—these ideas defy geography. For a landlocked state, this kind of ambition is bold, imaginative, and welcome.

Let’s contribute—each in our own way—to building our city, our state, and our nation.
