I recently attended a learning event with Palki Sharma. I often saw her on WION, and it was cool to meet and interact with her in person!

Among many other insights, I enjoyed her narrative on Gaza and how geopolitics plays out. But one of the most interesting takeaways was her insight that we tend to sit in our ECHO CHAMBERS.

Don’t many of us do that where we are only listening and subscribing to whatever we want to hear and with anyone who agrees with us or reinforces our beliefs?

Another interesting concept I came across in my research is “FILTER BUBBLE ” coined by Eli Pariser, author of “The Filter Bubble: What the Internet Is Hiding from You”. He says, “The Internet is showing us what it thinks we want to see, but not necessarily what we need to see.”

“Filter bubble” is where algorithms personalize content based on our preferences, leading to an environment where we are primarily exposed to information that aligns with our existing beliefs and viewpoints.

When we sit in echo chambers, which are our own making, or get trapped in a filter bubble created by algorithms, we are not exposed to the real information that could help us broaden our minds and our worldviews.

In his book Principles, Ray Dalio tells us to be radically open-minded and create a culture of RADICAL TRUTH AND TRANSPERANCY to make the right decisions and be successful.

Don’t we all agree with him?
